'Injured' Sanchez ruled out of start of Arsenal's PL campaign

Campbell and Steve Bould were on target when George Graham's side suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Norwich, an inauspicious maiden outing in the initial Premier League season.

His next touch was heading the ball into the back of the net in the second minute and the Premier League was off and running.

"I don't know if it is two weeks or one more week, but he will not be available". Jamie struct again in the 56th minute to make 3-2 for The Foxes before Aaron Ramsey's 83rd and Giroud's 85th minutes goals prove decisive at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have reinforced their team with the likes of French striker Alexandre Lacazette and Bosnian left back Sead Kolasinac.

But Wenger revealed after the dramatic clash that Giroud "decided to stay" at the Emirates and he is "really loved" at the club.

"You want the Premier League to be the best league in the world and I think it has to produce these kind of games to produce interest and quality".

It brought an end to a scintillating game of football that was marked by fragile defending and thrilling attacks.

The Frenchman, who has been at the club since 1996, has been given a chance to turn things around despite calls for his head from disgruntled Arsenal fans waiting for a first league title under his stewardship since he led them to the crown in 2004.

"We are well prepared and ready for a fight, and of course ambitious as well", Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com. Xhaka and Elneny's miscommunications in the double pivot weren't helping either.

Who are we to believe?

Wenger's gamble to field a back three featuring one recognised centre-back collapsed in a display of complete defensive incompetence. 'The biggest worry is Manchester City and that's the problem.

Sanchez, 28, has been linked with a move to PSG.

Opening weekend activity continues later Saturday with Liverpool visiting Watford in the early match and six other contests starting later.

Unfortunately, Arsenal will be missing star player Alexis Sanchez to injury and Leicester will be missing summer signing Iborra to a groin injury during training for the upcoming season.
